About Your Role

We are looking for a tech-savvy sales engineer to assist with the selling of our services with proven experience and a passion for selling complex scientific and technological products to senior executives.

The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of the products' parts, functions, and processes and assisting to close sales.

To be successful as a sales engineer, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of our company's technical products and services and you should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to (non-)technical customers.

You will be responsible for selling into new prospects as well as farming back into existing customers to ensure high renewal and customer satisfaction levels. Measures of success include new customer acquisition rates, renewal rates, up-selling, customer satisfaction and contribution to overall sales team and business success.

We are an innovative and fast-moving AI (Artificial Intelligence) aviation software company located in Amsterdam, but with a remote first strategy; so really you can be working from almost anywhere when you are not visiting customers!

Together you and the team will bring the best jet engine inspection experience to aviation maintenance professionals across the world.

Sales Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition; online or on-site at prospect/ customer meetings;

  • Collaborating with customer teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support;

  • Support in qualifying leads and generating high-quality sales leads;

  • Support sales executives with solution selling into prospect account base;

  • Partner with sales to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles;

  • Model the business case associated with each sales opportunity;

  • Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions;

  • Create POC to roll out documentation and agreements, ensure maximum nr of POC’s convert to (new) customers;

  • Manage all technical aspects of RFP / RFI responses;

  • Effectively communicate client needs to the Product and R&D teams for future product enhancements;

  • Collect and document competitive intelligence

  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand service requirements.

  • Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Job requirements

What You Bring to the Team

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Sales Engineer or similar role;

  • 2-3 years of experience in selling complex enterprise solutions;

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills;

  • Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with senior executives;

  • Excellent presentation and creativity skills;

  • The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers;

  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills;

  • Good leadership, project management and team working skills;

  • Willingness to travel 20%-50% of the time;

  • Endless empathy for less technical users, and a desire to help them feel in command of the technology;

  • A bachelor's degree in (aerospace-) engineering or business administration;

Further details about the job and the perks:

  • 32-40 hours per week;
